EDITH NOUBLANCHE

As part of the series of meetings on the publishing professions launched last season with éditions du Sonneur and translator Anne-Sylvie Homassel, this time we turn our attention to the job of proofreader, a job in publishing that is as little known as it is fascinating.

Whether she's re-reading a text written in French or translating it, Édith Noublanche sees herself as a bridge-builder. Her passion for French was born in Austria. Her interest in grammar and her love of literature, both black and white, did the rest. When she's not proofreading for the publishers La Manufacture de livres, Quidam and a few others, she likes to talk about her job, share her experience and pass on what she's learnt in the course of her work. It's hard to talk about what she's up to in the next few months, but you should know that she has proofread a number of texts by authors who came to the Challans media library before her!
