Come and enjoy the colours and smells of the Vaulieu garden in Sallertaine.
The Jardin de Vaulieu, the town's floral gem, used to be a sandstone limestone quarry. It was exploited from ancient times until the 1950s. The Town Hall acquired it in 2003 and restored it.
The Vaulieu garden is also a historic site.
It provides an insight into the geological evolution of Sallertaine through the ages. Sallertaine was built on a limestone island. It was once surrounded by salt marshes.
